The United States Business Council for Sustainable Development (US BCSD) is a non-profit business association that provides opportunities for its members to work on authentic sustainability projects with industry, governmental and other key stakeholders who might not otherwise have the chance to collaborate and network. The projects generate economic returns while improving the environment and society — the triple bottom line.

The Fall Meeting is an action conference brought to you in two parts by the US BCSD and the Ygrene Energy Fund. First, participate and collaborate in US BCSD working groups and interactive panel discussions that explore and expand the relationships and work processes at the core of our success. Attendees will help develop and learn innovative solutions to address key sustainability challenges and embed sustainability into business operations.

And then, learn from key players how to launch and lead your Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) marketplace. State governments have passed legislation that enables cities and counties to offer the financial structure necessary to create a local clean economy. Join us in a groundbreaking workshop to learn how corporations, cities and counties can access immediately available and sustainable financing to launch a PACE program. Take the first steps to increase jobs, stimulate your local economy and bring clean energy to your community.

US BCSD Fall Meeting

Through the application of innovative collaborative methodologies, US BCSD members and colleagues have redefined the boundaries of sustainable business practices.  Our By-Product Synergy projects, PACE Financing energy efficiency retrofit model, the recently launched Water Synergy Project, and our work with Biodiversity and Ecosystem services have demonstrated – in the past year more than ever – that sustainable development can generate economic returns while improving the environment and society.

We’ve tailored our Fall Meeting around interactive and collaborative sessions in both our Monday and Tuesday agenda.  US BCSD working groups will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss their progress and to re-define the path forward in our five key work streams.  On Tuesday morning, our plenary sessions will feature dynamic panel presentations while also allowing attendees to engage in small group discussions.  Click here to view our full agenda.

Co-located with the NAEM Annual EHS Management Forum

Make the most out of your time in Tucson and plan to attend the annual NAEM EHS Management Forum on the 19th and 20th.  The Forum is the largest annual gathering of EHS and sustainability managers, directors and vice presidents. Business, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Working Group: Interact with industry experts at the forefront of biodiversity preservation, restoration and ecosystem services initiatives. Learn about cutting-edge ecosystem valuation tools, new challenges, and innovative new opportunities in biodiversity protection. And, get an update on our Green Brownfields Initiative in Houston.

Advanced Synergies – Water: Learn about ongoing corporate water stewardship initiatives and new thinking for addressing water quality, quantity and storm water challenges. Participate in action planning on the recently launched Louisiana Water Synergy Pilot Project in which a range of regional industry leaders work collectively to address complex water challenges and achieve tangible water synergy benefits in Southern Louisiana.

By-Product Synergy: Join sustainability professionals from around the country passionate about building and growing By-Product Synergy networks around the US. Learn about synergy methods and results, help shape our path forward, hear about current projects and how to start a project in your own community.

PACE Financing Working Group: Learn about current PACE projects from locations around the country; share and develop tools to communicate and address obstacles, and find out about different PACE district structures being developed around the US. Understand the three emerging US BCSD models for PACE-Synergy projects, opening the door to cities across the country to establish innovative by-product synergy projects along with renewable energy and energy efficiency in buildings and processes.
