The United States Business Council for Sustainable Development (US BCSD) is a non-profit business association that provides opportunities for its members to work on authentic sustainability projects with industry, governmental and other key stakeholders who might not otherwise have the chance to collaborate and network. The projects generate economic returns while improving the environment and society — the triple bottom line.

The Fall Meeting is an action conference brought to you in two parts by the US BCSD and the Ygrene Energy Fund. Attendees will help develop and learn innovative solutions to address key sustainability challenges and embed sustainability into business operations.

And then, learn from key players how to launch and lead your Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) marketplace. State governments have passed legislation that enables cities and counties to offer the financial structure necessary to create a local clean economy. Join us in a groundbreaking workshop to learn how corporations, cities and counties can access immediately available and sustainable financing to launch a PACE program. Take the first steps to increase jobs, stimulate your local economy and bring clean energy to your community.

US BCSD Fall Meeting

Through the application of innovative collaborative methodologies, US BCSD members and colleagues have redefined the boundaries of sustainable business practices. Our By-Product Synergy projects, PACE Financing energy efficiency retrofit model, the recently launched Water Synergy Project, and our work with Biodiversity and Ecosystem services have demonstrated – in the past year more than ever – that sustainable development can generate economic returns while improving the environment and society.

We’ve tailored our Fall Meeting around interactive and collaborative sessions in both our Monday and Tuesday agenda. US BCSD working groups will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss their progress and to re-define the path forward in our five key work streams. On Tuesday morning, our plenary sessions will feature dynamic panel presentations while also allowing attendees to engage in small group discussions. Click here to view our full agenda.

PACE Financing Marketplace

Attend our workshop on Tuesday afternoon, October 18th, to learn about the clear benefits of Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing for your sustainability projects. We will outline how PACE works for both cities and companies, as well as present an opportunity to interact with the key players that make PACE a success.

Join the US BCSD, Ygrene Energy Fund, Barclays Capital and Lockheed Martin at this ground-breaking workshop, bringing together leading American corporations and leading American cities and counties for the purpose of creating privately financed public/private partnerships focused on building the clean economy all across the country. Click here for more information.

Co-located with the NAEM Annual EHS Management Forum

Make the most out of your time in Tucson and plan to attend the annual NAEM EHS Management Forum on the 19th and 20th. The Forum is the largest annual gathering of EHS and sustainability managers, directors and vice presidents. With two days of peer-led interactive sessions and keynote presentations, this is the premier event dedicated to showcasing best practices in EHS and sustainability management. Drawing more than 500 EHS and sustainability managers, directors and vice presidents from leading companies, the Forum provides a fantastic opportunity for professional networking, benchmarking and best practice sharing for EHS and sustainability practitioners. Click here for more information.

Overview

Come to Tucson and join in creating the largest public/private partnership in the country’s history.

American business is poised to launch a massive Retooling America campaign, with at least $500 billion of new capital investment in energy efficiency retrofits of existing buildings, plants and operations, 100% privately financed, producing 5 million jobs and reducing CO2 in the process. State governments have passed legislation that enables City and County governments covering 2/3 of the country’s population to offer the financing structure that can tap that $500 billion of private investment in the clean economy.

Who and Why

In Tucson on October 18th, the US BCSD, Ygrene Energy Fund, Barclays Capital, Lockheed Martin, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Environmental Defense Fund are hosting a conference bringing together leading American corporations and leading American cities and counties for the purpose of creating privately financed public/private partnerships focused on building the clean economy all across the country.

The Time is Now

More than just a learning experience, the US BCSD and its partners will present opportunities to take action at every level, providing you with the necessary connections to establish a PACE district in your region. The marketplace will be an opportune time for your city or county or company or NGO to join the partnership. This is an action conference. Everything you need to start the money flowing toward creating jobs in the clean economy in your community will be there on the 18th. Come to Tucson and be a part of Retooling America.
